Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)

In this high-tech Center we can diagnose and treat many orthopaedic and sports injuries using minimally invasive techniques, with the use of small incisions, specialized techniques and instruments and innovative imaging techniques. Arthroscopy is a main type of minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery: with the use of an arthroscope – a special thin tool – through “keyhole” incisions we can view and treat problems practically inside every human joint. The benefits of MIS include less post-operative pain, less tissue damage, less blood loss, minimal scarring, reduced recovery time and higher patient satisfaction.

Surgical Center

The practice of surgery has been transformed by the availability of new minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques. By the use of the arthroscope – a special thin tool- we can view and treat problems inside a joint. The arthroscope has a miniature camera that enables all the structures inside the joint to be viewed on a monitor. With special instruments the surgeon can treat many problems in practically every human joint.

It’s a highly specialized Center called Orthopraxis (www.ortho-praxis.gr), the first one in Greece, founded in 2007, dedicated to prevention of orthopaedic and sports injuries. Orthopraxis through high-tech exams (gait analysis, Prefit Body Scan, Bioaging, Biolens-Bioresque, etc.) focus on several objectives: to identify and reduce risk factors, to discover potential musculoskeletal health problems and to promote well being through safe exercise.
